Master Yourself
I’ll give you a “formula” to predict your future better than any predictive analysis program available.
It’s so simple anyone can do it.
Here it is:
Take a look at what you’re doing.
Everything you do today builds tomorrow.
So, if you’re blowing all your money every month, a solid prediction is you’ll be broke in 5 years.
If you’re chowing down Oreos and mac & cheese, you’re likely to be fat and unhealthy in 5 years.
If you’re waking up early and getting 3 hours of deep work in every morning, you’re likely to be successful 5 years from now.
If you have a habit of start/stop then you’re likely to be in the same place you are now in 5 years.
Today predicts tomorrow.
Don’t overcomplicate things.
Master Your Money
Times are tough out there.
I won’t downplay the significance of people’s struggles.
But, it’s times like these that enhance the wealth gap between the elite and everyone else.
How?
Basically, everyone else is scared to invest while the wealthy keep buying discounted assets.
Now, I understand some people will point out that certain folks simply cannot afford to invest. It has nothing to do with fear.
To that I say, you probably do have more money than you think.
Add up the money you spend eating out, buying booze, cigarettes, lottery tickets and streaming platforms. Invest those dollars instead.
And if you truly are broke as shit, this article isn’t for you. Not being cruel, but your focus is survival, not growing wealth.
See, while you’re panic selling at a loss (or not investing at all) wealthy people are buying up your discounted assets that will enhance their net worth down the road.
Truth is…we can make excuses or we can make money.
And, no, money isn’t everything.
It simply pays for everything you really want.
The real goals are freedom, options, generosity.
Your monetary decisions today during the tough times will pay for your life tomorrow…or they’ll ensure you’re broke.
Weekly Special
One of the most effective ways to influence, instruct, and inspire others is to tell stories. Storytelling is used by leaders, sales reps and marketers every day.
If you want to sell anything (you do), you need to learn how to tell good stories.
Telling good stories ain’t easy.
The good news? There are some outlines everyone can use to build the best stories.
The 4Ps are a great place to start.
1. People
As in which people are you speaking to?
Who is your audience?
Build out a profile of your ideal listener/reader. A single person you’d speak directly to.
Then build your story around that person.
2. Problem
THEIR problem, not yours.
How do they solve it? How do you help them solve it?
Most problems aren’t unique so think of a handful of problems your audience would face and answer their “hows”.
3. Purpose
Your purpose here goes.
Why are you writing?
Why are you speaking?
Why are you telling this particular story?
What’s the ultimate outcome you’re chasing here?
You also need a call to action in this section of your outline.
And a call to action doesn’t need to be a sale. It can be the next step you’d like them to take.
4. Platform
This simply means, where are you engaging?
How you tell a story depends on the platform.
Are you speaking on a stage? Writing an article on Medium? A thread on Twitter? Creating a video for YouTube.
Tweak your story’s delivery to the platform. Study what the best do on those platforms. Are articles long form? How are Twitter threads laid out? How long are successful YouTube videos? Etc.
